WARNING – Linking your MyGov Account to the ATO

  • September 8, 2015
  • ATO

If you have created a myGov account and linked it to the ATO you have agreed to use your myGov Inbox as your designated electronic address for the ATO.

This means you will now receive your notice of assessment, instalment activity statements and other ATO documents direct to your myGov inbox, and you will not be sent these documents through the post nor will they be sent to your tax agent.

Your tax agent will not be notified that you are receiving these documents and the agent will no longer receive a copy.

To have your documents go directly to your tax agent you need to unlink your myGov account.

To unlink – go to the Services page (chain icon) and select the unlink icon (broken chain icon) next to the service you wish to remove. Unlinking a service means you may not be able to use that member service’s online account.

For more help on MyGov click here.
